About the Role

You will be immersed in the Engineering product design and development environment and will shepherd projects from concept through to prototype validation and then production ramp-up collaboratively with other members of the greater multi-functional team. You will head the Project Management discipline and will support the hiring and build-up of the Engineering Project Management Department, ensuring process discipline and competence development.

Further, you will work with other experts on the team, including Sales & Business Development to prepare project plans, execution budget estimates, resourcing plans, project statusing, Estimates to Complete...etc. Experience reviewing customer specifications, working with suppliers, and manufacturing to deliver finished product according to those specifications is critically important.

You will use your engineering background and experience to understand the product requirements, technical risks and the validation strategy to enable and support the acceleration of the project execution plan. You will communicate and present project status, highlight Project risks (technical, schedule, cost...etc.), and develop recovery plans in the event of project slip. On a daily basis, you will interface with the applicable Engineering Product Line Director, and the project cross functional teams (design, manufacturing, compliance, system test, reliability, supply chain and operations) to define and drive development of new product Projects, while also managing changes in existing Projects.

As an experience Project Manager, you will be expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy on your Projects while contributing to the development of tools and processes that improve the organization's productivity (applicable metrics, at-a-glance dashboards...etc.)

What You Will Do

  • Plan the delivery of the overall Engineering Product Development Projects andassociated activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of the organization byestablishing and maintaining the Project charter(s) and Project plans.
  • Establish and manage Projects feature baseline, scheduling, critical path, and technologyrisks areas for execution.
  • Cross-functionally communicate key development updates, risks and timeline onprojects as well as presenting to the Executive team as required.
  • Ensure that Project activities operate within the policies and procedures of theorganization and drive improvements / creation of such policies and procedures asrequired.
  • Collaborate with the overall Engineering organization to ensure that necessaryresources are provided by the different disciplines in the matrix organization.
  • Oversee Project execution teams by providing direction, input, and feedback
  • Support the Sales/Business Development team and customer communication on all Projects aspects and communicate with other stakeholders to gain support for theProjects and to solicit input to improve the Projects.
  • Liaise with other managers to ensure effective and efficient Project delivery.
  • Monitor all budgeted Project expenditures, manage Projects' budgets in accordancewith company rules.
  • Ensure that all project records for the Projects are up to date and available.
  • Identify and evaluate the risks and opportunities associated with Project activities andtake appropriate action(s) to control the risks and opportunities in collaboration withthe Engineering team and the cross-functional team as required.
  • Ensure the execution of Project review meetings, gate reviews and regular reviews withthe stakeholders, including across sites when applicable.
  • Identify tactical (exercise operational excellence) and creative ways to overcomeobstacles while meeting deadlines despite setbacks.


What You Need


  • 10+ years of experience in a fast-paced NPD & NPI, cross-functional teams oriented.
  • BS in an engineering discipline or equivalent practical knowledge. Masters is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to drive change and be a change agent.
  • Experience/exposure to environments managing projects for high volume mass
  • production products.
  • Mastery in understanding of new product development cycles and criticality of time-to[1]market.
  • Ability to grasp complex technical topics and abstract key issues and risks in an
  • actionable form.
  • Experience in leading large groups of people, and able to remain calm with big picture focus in the face of uncertainties.
  • Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills, as well as excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong experience/background with project management methodologies (PMP cert. aplus)
  • Strong relationship and leadership skills along with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.


Our good faith estimate of the salary range for this role is $180,000 - $230,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and other factors. In addition to base pay, we offer a full benefits package.
